Update your Windows PC to avoid data theft over Wi-Fi

Microsoft patched a serious vulnerability in Windows 10 and 11 that could put your computer at risk when connected to a public Wi-Fi network.

The vulnerability (CVE-2024-30078) could allow hackers to install a malicious package over a Wi-Fi network in places like airports, coffee shops, hotels, or workplaces. From there, hackers can remotely execute commands and gain access to a system—all without user interaction.

Microsoft introduced the patch as part of its monthly soccer update on June 11. Microsoft feels it’s important,” and it’s the second-highest rating of its severity for undermining Americans.
